“No history, but a rendezvous with destiny.”

That’s what General William Lee told the men of the 101st Airborne when the division was activated in August 1942. Less than two years later, they made it.

In the early hours of June 6, 1944, the Screaming Eagles jumped into the dark over Normandy. Scattered across the Cotentin Peninsula, small groups of paratroopers fought their way to objectives with whoever they could find, securing the causeways behind Utah Beach and taking Carentan. In September they dropped into Holland for Market Garden. That December, surrounded at Bastogne with low ammunition and no winter gear, they held. When the Germans demanded surrender, General McAuliffe answered with one word: “Nuts!”

This team puts five of the weapons they carried into the hands of the men who carried them.

What you’re getting:

  • Automatic rifleman — Browning Automatic Rifle with bipod. Twenty rounds of .30-06 and roughly 20 pounds of squad firepower.
  • Paratrooper — M1 Carbine. Lighter than the Garand, and a favorite of paratroopers who had to jump with everything they carried.
  • Anti-tank specialist — Bazooka with 1 rocket. The 2.36-inch rocket launcher that gave a paratrooper a fighting chance against German armor from the flank or rear.
  • Rifleman — M1 Garand. Patton called it “the greatest battle implement ever devised.”
  • Assault trooper — M1A1 Thompson. The simplified wartime Thompson, built for production speed and fed from stick magazines.
  • Every figure includes a helmet, 101st Airborne insignia, khaki M1942 jump uniform coloring, and printed arm webbing
  • 100% pad-printed. No stickers. No UV printing.
