Waffen-SS Infantry Team - Reversible Winter Smocks | 4 Figures
Late-war winter combat dress: Sumpfmuster on one side, white on the other.
By the last winters of the war, German infantry on the Eastern Front and in the Ardennes fought in reversible winter clothing: padded smocks with camouflage on one side and white on the other, turned to whichever side matched the ground. On the white side, soldiers wore colored armbands for identification, because in a snowfield everyone in white looks the same.
This team carries four weapons that defined late-war German infantry firepower:
- Gewehr 43 — Germany’s semi-automatic rifle, with a 10-round detachable magazine. Often fitted with the ZF 4 scope for marksmen, but never produced in numbers close to the Kar98k.
- Kar98k — the bolt-action that served from Poland to Berlin, still standard issue while the Americans fielded the semi-automatic Garand.
- StG 44 — the first assault rifle to see widespread service.
- MP 40 — the submachine gun that fought from Stalingrad to the Siegfried Line.
The Waffen-SS was the armed branch of the SS, which the Nuremberg tribunal declared a criminal organization. We present these figures as history: uniforms and equipment depicted accurately, nothing glorified.
